Ingredients:
375 grams of ground beef
1.5 large onion, chopped
1/2 cup bread crumbs
4 tbs milk
1 egg, lightly whisked
1/2 tsp nutmeg powder
1/2 tsp sugar
Pinch of ginger powder
Pinch of salt & pepper
4 slices of cheese
4 tbs Vegetable oil
100mL warm water
2 tbs salted margarine
3 tbs worchester sauce
Preparation:
1. Stir fry onions with a bit of vegetable oil untill well done.
2. Soak bread crumbs with milk until iy congeals.
3. Mix bread crumbs with ground beef, stir in all dry spices. Add onions but reserve 2 tbs for the sauce later.
4. Add egg to mixture. Mix well. Divide beef mix into 4 equal parts.
5. Cover hands with vegetable oil, mold beef into patties. Fill the center with a slice of cheese. Let sit for 5 minutes.
6. Add 3 tbs oil onto frying pan and heat on medium high, fry beef, rotate frequently, for 3-4 minutes. Flip beef and do the same procedure.
7. Reduce heat to low, add warm water to the pan, cover and let simmer until the water almost all evaporated. Check for doneness- if patty is pierced with a skewer, the liquid comes out clear. Transfer patty onto plate.
8. Use remaining liquid for the sauce by adding the rest of the onions, margarine, worchester sauce. Heat and stir until mixed.
9. Serve with steamed vegetables and fries with mayonnaise.
